Participants explore settings options on iOS devices (iPads) for teaching and learning and as tools for daily school operations and management. This course is designed to expand your skills when customizing and navigating the multiple settings available on your iPad. You will gain a deeper understanding of the plethora of options available at your fingertips.  

 

Learning outcomes for this workshop include the following:

  • creating folders, accessing running apps (how to toggle between apps)
  • creating passcode locks, protecting sensitive data, find my iPad (iCloud)
  • home sharing, sync your iPad to your other iOS devices
  • control notifications, battery statistics, 
  • connecting to HDTV or Apple TV
  • AirPlay, stream movies, photos and music, AirPrint
  • Sync Google Calendar to iCalendar
  • Sharing docs created on iOS device with Windows computers (including setting up WCPSS email for students to "send only"
  • Copy, paste, replace a word, hidden keys...
  • Saving PDF files using iBooks, Neu Annotate, Dropbox...
  • Clearing cache, browsing history, managing applications
  • Finding text on a page (Safari) & number of occurences
