Pump Up Your Google Forms & Spreadsheets with New Visions

Participants will use New Visions Cloud Lab Add-Ons (http://cloudlab.newvisions.org/add-ons) to extend their Google Forms with mail merge into Google Docs and email! This is a working session where we will create a form and some of the add-ons to enhance the results. Participants will need a laptop with the latest version of Google Chrome installed.

Goal 1: Have fun exploring New Visions for Public Schools Add-Ons

Goal 2: Create a few documents to see how this process works!

Mad Lib - A Sample of What autoCrat Can Do

Give this one a try... Spine Chiller

If you would like to see the originals in my Google Drive folder, please include your email in the form above!!

Pretty nice, huh? Let's try making our own using the autoCrat Add-On

autoCrat

Flexible, easy to use document merge tool that creates PDF or Shared Documents from spreadsheet data. Optionally generate documents from a form submission and/or send documents via email.

Let's create our own Mad Lib using autoCrat!! We'll start with a simple Mad Lib to make sure that we have time to review everything in the time we have today.

formMule - Email Merge Utility

formMule sends targeted, personalized emails from a Google Sheet. Run as either a manual email merge or -- more powerfully -- as a triggered merge that runs automatically on form submit or on a timer.

formMule is similar to autoCrat, but, it only does email. This can be a fantastic tool for getting feedback to teachers after a workshop or even just a quick way for you to gather data via email. We will use formMule to create a simple contact form.

  • We'll walk through these steps together, but, in case you need it later, here's a step-by-step guide I created: Contact Form Step-by-Step
